I’m the fifth child of ten which makes me a big fat baby, right? As a result, I was teased mercilessly but it produced great resilience. I also learned what it meant to be frugal in such a large family which has served me well in my profession. Though, I can get pretty talkative, I’m generally not to others outside my family…don’t be thrown if I’m not that great and making you feel amazing if you meet me. I’m usually all business but try to be personable.
I own a couple of small companies that I built from the ground up, in which, I have worked every position often all at the same time. I don’t want to reveal their names as I don’t want to promote my interests while running for a public office. I’m sure enterprising individuals will figure it out but I’ll maintain my stance.
I have had success but I haven’t been wildly successful. I have had to live and die by my decision. When I make a mistake, my income is affected by it and my reach decreases. When I have made a good decision, I have been able to reap some benefit. I have never had anyone to blame because the buck has always ended with me. Outside just after college, I’ve never been able to glean the consistent benefit and protections of an employee. I’ve never been able to call in sick or take some PTO. I know what it means to take charge and if you are doing it right there is nothing glorious about it…it is a hard grinding unappreciated work that few understand, even me to some extent.
